  • You can dive in deeper with me. In therapy, we will EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and other modalities like CBT (cognitive behavior therapy) with a culturally and trauma informed lens.

EMDR is a type of therapy that helps people deal with negative memories or emotional pain. It works by having the person focus on a memory while moving their eyes using bilateral stimulation (BLS), or sometimes doing other bodily movements to stimulate the right brain. This process helps the brain make sense of the memory, making it less upsetting over time. It’s like helping your mind "reorganize" troubling memories so they don't hurt as much. We call this memory reconsolidation.

  • CBT is used to process an event where you challenge your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a type of talk therapy that helps you understand how your thoughts, feelings, and actions are all connected. The basic idea is that the way you think about things can influence how you feel, and how you feel can influence what you do. In CBT, you learn how to recognize negative or unhelpful thoughts and replace them with more realistic or positive ones. This can help you feel better and make better choices.

  • So, if you had an experience where you are trying to find your authentic self, know that I am here to listen and offer support around experiencing microaggressions. I have worked with women from LatinX, African, Caribbean, African American, the Asian, Pacific Islander, and South Asian backgrounds in California where I am licensed. Most often, I have worked with Generation X and Millennials.

I specialize around supporting people who identify as a being bicultural, BIPOC adults and professionals, and mothers seeking support around life stressors such as relationships, career, life transitions, and parenting. I am a mother of an adolescent daughter and so I get the importance of understanding your communication style, boundaries and self care. My identity as an Indian immigrant and growing up in the SF Bay Area gave me insight on my experiences and perceptions of how people perceived me and how it affected my interaction with society, my community, my family, and myself.

So…you wake up in the morning and realize that you don’t even remember who you are. All of those life decisions to climb the career ladder were going to make you happy. They don’t.

You come home and see all of the endless tasks that needs your attention while still thinking about all of the tasks at work that hasn’t been completed. Completely overwhelmed and exhausted yet?

You try to be intentional and carve out time for “self care” and you end up getting stressed out from just trying to plan it all.

Your family needs you at every waking moment. Why? Does your sense of “duty” build the pressure to take care of everyone?

  • Manage the care and needs of elders

  • Run errands for your children and be a taxi

  • Single handedly manage the entire domestic front

You just cannot fulfill the wishes of everyone any longer.

Enough is enough. It’s time to check in and take a good look at how you can refocus your energy so you can recharge and be present when you are available. Yes, you call the shots.

Are you a professional woman of diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds and dealing with workplace microaggressions that are persistent and just feel overwhelmed by the lack of empathy provided to you or being told you are “too sensitive? Feeling like you don’t belong anywhere in your community, home, work, or even family?
